I wanted to show off the beautiful flavour characteristics of the oldest hop of all - Brewers Gold. Before Brewers Gold only Hops of unknown parentage were grown. Brewers Gold a cross of a Wild Manitoban BB1 and unknown English Wild hop led to Brewers Gold. Although originally grown in England it is seldom grown here now, mainly in France & Germany.
Brewers Gold may be the old boy of hops but it spawned hops such as Galena, Horizon, Centennial & Nugget, and it has a more new world flavour than old world courtesy of its strong link to the Manitoban hop. Maltwise it is the old favourite Maris Otter Pale and this beer has a lovely fruity aroma and flavour with just a hint of spice. Tropical fruits evident as well.
